Spiritual Path
Australia finds a spiritual enlightenment with Cambodia’s poor. The dirt-poor nation of Cambodia is providing spiritual richness to an Australian man. He is 78 years of age and is on a journey to fulfil his Buddhist beliefs. The 78-year-old is a hero here after building rainwater tanks. Today he is on a mission to ensure that every child has his or her water bottle, and he is making sure the bottles are filled.
“We say it’s just as important to wash your inside as your outside. So we’ve got to get them enthusiastic, and I hope they’re gradually getting a taste for clean water,” he said.
The man has truly saved many people from starvation and is still trying to make this a better world for all to live in peace and harmony.

JAPANESE COMPANY BUYS DAIRY FARMERS
Dairy Farmers supply milk, cheese, yoghurt and dairy snacks to the families of Australia.
This Australian Company has been sold to a Japanese Company called National Foods for $910 million.
I don’t think this is good – we need to keep our business at home!
Dairy Farmers say suppliers to the co-op who sign new contracts will receive an increase in the price for milk. This will be good for them.
The proposal from the Japanese Company offers a promise regarding stable milk pricing and a security of milk supply.
Lets hope this deal reduces the price of dairy products in the future.

Urged to make his move: Peter Costello
Joyce calls for Costello frontbench return.
National Party Senator Barnaby Joyce has called for Peter Costello to make a return to the frontbench or conclusively end speculation about his future.
Today’s Newspoll shows Opposition Leader Brendan Nelson failing to make any ground against Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, with Mr Rudd leading Dr Nelson by 65 per cent to 14 per cent in the approval ratings.
When Peter Costello was the treasurer for Australia I think he really thought he would be the next Prime Minister after John Howard. But why did he leave?

New Technology to sniff out Graffiti Threat
This week, at Darling Harbour there will be over 150 new inventions for security systems called the innovation display. One of these inventions is called the E-Nose program. The E-Nose program can alert authorities to graffiti vandals by detecting their paint fumes.
State Development Minister Ian Macdonald says that this particular invention is the best thing he’s seen in the whole exhibition out of 150 inventions he’s seen! This Invention has said to be very useful in buildings, trains and any other public transportations. I think the E-Nose program sounds great and would also be useful in our scool. What do you think?

BOY THREATENED WITH KNIFE AT KINDY
Childcare workers Sandra Kaye Ingraham and Kelly Sandra Ingraham of Perth were in Armadale Magistrates Court charged of an assualt.
It is alledged that Sandra Kaye Ingraham threatened a 4 year old boy with a knife on 4 occassions to discipline him. She is also accused of swinging the boy into a wall. It is also alledged that Kelly Sandra Ingraham theatened the boy with a knife once this year.
The women did not enter a plea and the case has being adjourned until October 21. Both women have being stood down by the ABC Learning Childcare Centre.
In conclusion I think this might be hard to prove that the women are guilty because it is a 4 year old’s word against an adults. I hope the right decision is made.

Olympians touch down in Sydney
The Australian olympians have returned back to Australia in Sydney. Stephanie Rice was leading all of the olympians and while they were going out prime minister Kevin Rudd was congratulating. Kevin was also saying a speech while he was congratulating the olympians and said welcome back to Australia and every person in Australia is very proud of you and will support you all the time. You have won 46 medals, 14 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals. That is a very good result. James Tomkins is also having a decision whether he should retire or not.
I think that all the olympians will be pumped and ready in the next four years at the London Olympics, Great Britain.

Hydrogen cars hit USA
The nine automakers completed a 13 day country trip in a hydrogen fuel cell car over the weekend.the event went to Portland to Maine and to the Los Angeles coliseum. It didn’t make it in the record books though. One of the goals for this event was to show the need to build more fuelling stations if the nascent technology is to develop. In the United States there are 60 hydrogen stations and only 2 are opened for the public to use without a prior Arrangement.Air products and linde are used in hydrogen hopefully will be a household name if it becomes a key to transportation.
I think that Australia should think of doing it too.

Moore through, Dellacqua out
Australia’s highest ranked competitor Casey Dellacqua was bundled out of the New York grand slam in straight sets. She was defeated by Julie Coin who will face world number one Ana Ivanovic in the next round. Dellacqua’s countrywoman Jessica Moore also beat her 7-6 and is going through to the next round.
I think that Casey Dellacqua tried her hardest and unfortunately just missed out.It must be very hard for any athlete to train all year and then not make it through. Jessica Moore has done a wonderful job and I wish her all the best.

Drunk child caught behind the wheel
report from ABC news online
Northern Territory police were shocked to find a drunken 12 year old girl behind the wheel of a car in Moulden at 1:30 am this morning! The car was allegedly loaded with young people and tried to speed away when approached by police.
Six youths ran away and four girls were caught by the police including the 12 year old driver. She registered a blood alcohol of 0.065 per cent.
The car had been stolen from a house in Moulden and was returned to its owner.
I think it is shocking that this could happen. If I did anything 100th as bad as this my parents would make my life a misery!

!!!BANKS MAY FOLLOW WIZARDS RATE CUT!!!
Wizard’s rate cut comes ahead of the Reserve Bank’s meeting on Tuesday, where the board is widely expected to reduce the cash rate by 0.25 per cent.
The chief economist with AMP Capital, Shane Oliver, says banks may also move to lower rates ahead of Tuesday’s meeting.
He said there’s certainly a chance that with Wizard throwing down the gauntlet, that you might see other big lenders sort of follow suit. Also that he wouldn’t say it’s a certainty though, most of them might think ‘well we’ll stick to the normal pattern’, which is to wait till after the Reserve moves and typically rates start to come down around about Thursday or Friday – towards the end of the week.
ANZ and National Australia Bank have already pledged to pass on any cut in the official interest rate.

~ Hurricane Gustav~
Hurricane Gustav hits Cuba’s tobacco growing western tip fields on Saturday the 23rd of August. The hurricane was measured as a category four but was very short of being a massive category five. Hurricane Gustav was ripping tin roofs off houses and blowing down mango and almond trees, as well as bringing down telegraph poles.
The stormy hurricane roared towards the oil-rich Gulf of Mexico and New Orleans which would cause horrific financial disaster for the region.
The hurricanes winds were heading at a speed of 250 kilometres per hour. There were many reports of injuries but no reports of deaths. Hurricanes start as a calm wind and travel at a speed of 1 kilometre per hour. As the calm wind moves it gains more wind and gets stronger. To be a hurricane it has to be travelling at least at the speed of 118 kilometres per hour. Hurricane winds blow in a large spiral around a relative calm centre known as the “eye.”

CASA finds Qantas Maintenance Procedures need Improving
Over the past month Qantas flights have been cancelled or delayed because of engine problems. An audit by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) found that the airlines maintenance procedures haven’t been up to its standards lately. But CASA does say the deficiencies aren’t linked to theairlines safety incidents lately.
I think Qantas should improve but at the I same time think they are doing alright.

I found this interesting because I played at Kelso Park last week.
