Our Wiki’s is different to our blog. Our blog records news and stories of interest to our classroom so that others can read about it. The wiki is a place to record lots of information that you might want to add to over time. You will all be able to edit the wiki but only people we invite will be allowed to look at our wiki.

An example of a wiki is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is like an encyclopedia but anyone can edit it. If you disagree with something someone has written in wikipedia you can discuss your opinions on the discussion page. If changes are made to they are recorded in the history page. Here is a link to a video that explains how Wiki’s work.

Here is a link to the our ahowto wikipage.

The types of information we will collect on our wiki will include:

Technology tips

Useful links

Instructions on how to do things at our school

The opening ceremony was a wonderful event but the athletes reported that it was so very hot that all the clothes they were wearing were soaked through with sweat by the time they finally witnessed the lighting of the Olympic Flame in the stadium.

Each day we will follow the progress of our team and record the highlights as comments on this post.

Keep checking the comments to see how well Australia is going.

Check out this interactive world map that changes as each country wins a medal. It is amazing. You can find out how many medals Australia won at each of the games it participated in since 1896.

Brackets first to quench your thirst

Next comes division so you don’t loose your vision
Multiplication so you you can go on vacation
Do the addition nearly finish the mission
Take-away last it’s over very fast

The Jungle Tribe that Time forgot….
This article was interesting because we found a tribe that could have lived hundreds of years ago and they still have not changed. They were unusual because they painted themselves with red paint and dressed only in animal skins. It is interesting to find a tribe in the Amazon Rainforest of South America in 2008 when other tribes in South America stopped hundreds of years ago. These people have never touched people from out of their tribe and have lived without other people. They have not seen technology before. The weaponry they used was related to the weaponry that the aborigines used. The way they acted and sheltered was interesting because it was the way their ancestors sheltered.
