Vietnamese Chicken Rice Paper Rolls

Today we made lots of Vietnamese rice paper rolls. The preparation was wonderful, everyone did a fantastic job and they tasted scrumptious.

Anyone who would like to write a procedural recount of our experience today and leave it in the comments I will select one or two to publish as a post which will go with the movie of how to make a Vietnamese Spring Roll.

The Jelly Beans

Six Jelly Beans

The jellybeans on my desk look like great, fat ugly maggots looking up at me. They’re white and smooth. They’re oval shaped and plump but aren’t good at rolling. I’m not tempted to eat them. They smell okay. They are also very hard.  Kathleen

The strawberry taste sensation was mouth watering and delicious. Brooke

At first there was an explosion of flavour which tasted like fanta.  Isobel

An explosion of flavour surged into my mouth, licorice and caramel. Sensations, rough at first then tingly. Abby

The sugary taste is so delicious, but then I start chewing and it tastes a lot like toffee and then I swallow. Zac

I love the rich amazing taste of the colourful little jellies. Courtney

The outside of the jellybeans is as hard as a rock. The inside it is as soft as a cloud. Elyse

The jelly bean feels smooth on my tongue and tastes like raspberry. Each one I have tastes more satisfying. Ben

I just ate one and the fantastic, sweet lemon flavour makes me feel like I am in Heaven. Chenaya

I feel like I am sitting in a cage because we are not allowed to touch them. I feel like I’m jumping into a pool of flavour. Phoebe

Descriptive Writing

This image was the stimlus for writing. It is the cover of the book “Nobody Likes Me Everybody Hates Me”

Scary Girl by Karl

Today I saw a girl. This monster had red hair that looked like a pile of rusty junk, so was she a killer robot? No.

She has skin  that has turned white with fury, is she a zombie? No.

Her mouth is unnaturally wide so is she a mutant bullfrog? No.

She is wearing funny clothes , red tights, pointy black shoes, a polka-dot skirt and a blue stripy jumper, is she a mad scientist? No

Well her pointy frustrated eyebrows don’t meet in the middle so she’s not a werewolf.

Her eyes are blue not red so she’s not a supernatural freak. So she must be worst of all ‘a girl.’

The Big Bully by Jessica

Today I saw a person bullying a girl she had wide black scary eyes, a small stubby nose, a wide open mouth, she looks scary from her head to her toes. She is wearing black pointy shoes on her feet, she is the one everyone fears.

She has a spotty yellow skirt, a stripy blue jumper and long red tights let’s hope she doesn’t pick more fights. She has two boiling red cheeks and rusty red hair, I hope she’ll soon play fair.

The Furious Monster by Isobel

Today I saw a furious monster. She had wild red hair sprouting out in every direction. Her eyes were big blue and bulging. Her cheeks were as red as fire. She had little round yellow earrings. Her head was as round as a potato. Her mouth was wide open.

She had a blue striped jumper and a yellow spotted skirt. Her tights were as red as a fire engine. Her arms were bent and her hands were stubby. Her legs were crocked and her knees were knobbly. Her shoes were as black as midnight.
