Gymea How To!

Gymea how to is another one of 4/5Ms websites. This time not only the teacher can edit it but the students can to. It is made up of what our school does and how. The students have to create a page on what topic they picked. It started on the 18/8/08 and been up running since. You can't visit it because you need to be a member to get into it or edit it.

Country Fair Day
To celebrate the end of the Charlotte's Web study, 4/5M organised a Country Fair Day at school, on Wednesday the 2nd of July 2OO8. We came dressed up as country children and we could bring a pet. We introduced our pets. Some of the children brought their dog, rabbit, mouse or worms. We all competed in a Charlotte's Web Quiz. Before lunch we feasted on fairybread, sausages, fruit, meat, cheese, marshmallows, lollies, chocolate coated strawberries and more! Our wonderful day finished off with a movie of Charlotte's Web. I thought that day was the best school day ever.

Today when the mens 1500m freestyle Hackett was most of the time switching place from 2 to 1 to 2 to 3 to 2 at the last 2 laps he was racing his heart out but couldn't get to 1 and missed out by an arm's length which was very unlucky for Hackett

The Elizabeth Farm excursion

On Tuesday 24th June,4F and 4/5M went on an excursion and had to dress up as a convict. We went to Elizabeth Farm and then we went to where explorers and students worked. 4/5M went to Elizabeth Farm first and we did alot of jobs. Some of the jobs were how to bake scones, how to clean the dust out of rugs, how to set the table and tidy the bed. I liked cleaning the scones because you have to whack it hard with a stick. At the end we signed to get of there and spotting prints. We then took a little bit more pictures there.

We went to the Goverment house where the explorers and students worked. We went inside Goverment house but we couldn't take photos, so we quickly took photos. We went in and saw a lot of stuff. My favourite room there is where the captains stay. We all meeted again and were all tired and experienced.

While we were on the bus we played a lolly game. We all had fun at the end of the day and i thought i could go back there again.

Tamsyn Tactics Pay Off
Tamsyn Lewis set the pace for her 800m heat, she made sure the time was fast enough for her to advance to the semi finals even though she was not amongst the placegetters.
The track and field events take place within the Birds Nest Stadium in Beijing.
The article only focused on Tamsyn Lewis.
The article also mentions the controversy surrouding the pre game dismissal of 7 Russians for drug cheating.Lewis was shielded from the outside world during the games preperation in Darwin by her brother who insisted that her mobile phone stayed off.
There is more to winning a race than just running Tamsyn has shown that tactics pay off.

Country Fair Day

On Wednesday the 2nd of July, 2008 4f and 4\5m had a country fair day at school to celebrate the conclusion of Charlotte's Webb. Mrs Marshall's year five students were allowed to join in aswell. We had to bring in our pets or a toy pet if we didn't have a real one. We were also asked to bring in a yummy lunch (Country Fair style) for all of the class to enjoy, and we had to dress up in Country Fair clothes.

It was great to see everyone parade their pets and each pet recieved a special certificate.
The country fair lunch was really delicious too.

We all had a fantastic and fun day which everyone enjoyed.

~Jacquiline Lawerence~
The swimmers are not the only people winning medals for Australia.Young Jacquiline Lawerence from rural New South Wales grabbed silver in the womens single kayak K1 final. The races were held at the slalom course at the Rowing and Canoeing park. She was very surprised to even win a medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
Jacquilines success was partly her dads as well. With his help of making a simalar course to the one in Beijing but instead of normal poles he used bamboo poles in there dam. She trained in the mini course.
The Aussie did her best and is now ranked 2nd in the world!
