Our Wiki’s is different to our blog. Our blog records news and stories of interest to our classroom so that others can read about it. The wiki is a place to record lots of information that you might want to add to over time. You will all be able to edit the wiki but only people we invite will be allowed to look at our wiki.
An example of a wiki is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is like an encyclopedia but anyone can edit it. If you disagree with something someone has written in wikipedia you can discuss your opinions on the discussion page. If changes are made to they are recorded in the history page. Here is a link to a video that explains how Wiki’s work.
Here is a link to the our ahowto wikipage.
The types of information we will collect on our wiki will include:
- Technology tips
- Useful links

The Olympics in Beijing are on the way. The opening ceremony was a wonderful event but the athletes reported that it was so very hot that all the clothes they were wearing were soaked through with sweat by the time they finally witnessed the lighting of the Olympic Flame in the stadium.
Each day we will follow the progress of our team and record the highlights as comments on this post.
Keep checking the comments to see how well Australia is going.
Check out this interactive world map that changes as each country wins a medal. It is amazing. You can find out how many medals Australia won at each of the games it participated in since 1896.

This week you will need to read a newspaper article. Read an article in the sports section of the leader on Tuesday 12th August or another current newspaper and write a report on a sports article. It may be a good week to report on an Olympic sport that has been in the paper.
In your report remember to state:
- Headline
- What happened?
- Where did it happen?
- Who was involved?
- Other important information
- How you felt about what has been stated in the article.
Please try to post your homework before or on Friday 15th.

The chinese have made the Beijing Mascots into robots. Apparently the Beijing Mascots Beibei, Jingjing, Haunhaun, Yingying and Nini robots are going to be roaming around Beijing greeting all the olympians that have came from overseas to china. I know, pretty interesting. I wonder what the olympian’s reactions will be. By Tim!
The mascots Beibei, Jingjing, Huanhuan, Yingying, Yingying, Nini comes from the words Beijing welcomes you. In chinese it is Bei Jing huan yin ni. by Albert
